Announcing Earth Week Woodstock: April 18 through April 25, 2026

Please join Woodstock, the Colony of the Arts, for a week-long festival of joyful events celebrating our precious planet, organized by Susan Paynter and Sylvia Bullett, sponsored by the Woodstock Environmental Commission (WEC). Earth Week 2026 is offering something for everyone: Watch Ms. Plastic and Ms. Natural walk the runway. Hike unknown trails. Watch life-sized puppets. Plant peas in the community garden. Listen to a concert starring the birds. Hear creation stories by an Algonquin elder. Do bark rubbings. Cook in a solar oven. Meet birds of prey. Enjoy art exhibits. Discover the depth and breadth of Woodstockers’ commitment to our earth.

Private Well PFAS Testing and Mitigation Rebate Pilot Program
If your home runs on well water, you may qualify for a new rebate program that can help you test and clean your water supply.
New York’s Private Well PFAS Testing & Mitigation Rebate Pilot Program offers free testing for harmful PFAS chemicals, which can contaminate well water. If your well tests positive, the program can help cover the cost to fix it.
The program has been accepting testing applications for Dutchess and Putnam Counties and is now accepting testing applications for Ulster County. Applications are first-come, first-served while funding is available.
Eligible households can receive:
- Free PFAS water testing for your private well
- Up to $5,000 to install a water treatment system
- Up to $10,000 to connect your home to public water
